Horses and Hope: A Benefit for Northwest Montana Chicks n Chaps

A little bit about us; Northwest Montana Chicks n Chaps is the Flathead Valley chapter of the national Chicks n Chaps organization based in Missoula. CnC was founded by a small group of Montanans whose lives had been profoundly impacted by breast cancer, and who were all passionate about the sport of Rodeo and its heritage, Chicks n Chaps has forged its mission from their experiences and passion.

We are a local organization benefitting local patients. We want to bring attention to the projected growth of breast cancer incidences in our area. Data show a projected increase of 12.6% in breast cancer cases from 2019 to 2024, and a 23% increase in breast cancer cases from 2019 to 2029. CnC is focused on filling the practical financial gaps that traditional insurance will not cover; copays, lodging when distant patients travel for treatment, and other like expenses.

NWMTCNC produced their first rodeo clinic in 2016 and held fund-raising events in conjunction with the Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo in 2016, 2017 & 2018. The funds raised from these events went exclusively and directly to Flathead Valley individuals affected by breast cancer.

Due to COVID-19, our 2020 event was cancelled so we decided to stage a smaller event in 2021. Our event is called Horses and Hope and it is from 5-8 pm on Saturday, July 10 at Montana Horse Works in Kalispell. We are planning horse encounters wherein attendees attend a 45-minute clinic that explores the healing power of the human-horse bond. We are sold out of the Horse Encounter tickets but we have general admission tickets available for $35 which includes catered dinner from Ed McGrew Catering, professional photographs, games, an attendee gift, and deep fellowship of the Northwest Montana Chicks n Chaps community. We will also have a raffle of amazing items donated by our generous sponsors. We would love to have you join us. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.
